Sheri MacMillan

Grande Prairie

Sheri’s interest in the people of the north has driven her career choices. She is an Addictions Counsellor with Alberta Health Services where she sees many of the people that suffer when the economy goes through its boom and bust cycle. Her interest extends to the workplace where she is making a difference by becoming a Union Steward with Health Sciences Association of Alberta to be an advocate for workers in a volatile economy. Sheri chose to make the north her home 17 years ago and would not want to live anywhere else. She loves the people, the strength of the communities and the great home town feel of northern living. In her time with NADC she wants to work on the development of community and service delivery mandate working to give social agencies a voice and preparing community agencies to help with people in need. She is married with two daughters and she and her husband are active in the local muscle car community, putting on car shows and raising money for MS. Sheri also enjoys scrapbooking in her free time for self-care and has had some of her work published in the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.
